Home Taste Food Enterprise, a leading fish processing enterprise based in Siem Reap province, has shipped its second batch of processed fish products to Australia, fulfilling growing demand in markets abroad.
The shipments marked a significant move for the enterprise, demonstrating the company’s commitment to expanding its international reach and meeting the increasing demand for high-quality processed fish products in Australia, said its founder Sim Sereirath.
The second batch of over 3 tonnes of processed fish products was exported in collaboration with export company Polycell (Cambodia) Co., Ltd, on December 24 and is scheduled to arrive at the market next week, she said.
“The second shipment reflects the growing demand for high-quality processed fish products,” Sereirath told Khmer Times.
Home Taste Food employees have been undergoing training by CAPFISH-Capture, an initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries and UNIDO.
The training is aimed at improving the technical capacity of the private sector. It will also promote competition and help the implementation of the food standard system in Cambodia to meet national and international standards.
In April last year, the enterprise exported its first batch of 4.7 tonnes of processed fish products to Australia, becoming the first Cambodian firm to export fish products to a foreign market.
MAFF, in collaboration with key partners, has continued to support local fish processing enterprises to ensure that fishery operators conduct thorough quality and hygiene inspections, the ministry’s spokeswoman Im Rachna said earlier.
