ASEAN Access and KhmerSME had disseminated in Steung Treng

On July 26, 2022, the 5th Outreach of the KhmerSME (https://www.khmersme.gov.kh/) and ASEAN Access (https://www.aseanaccess.com/) websites had been held in Steung Treng Province to further inform local businesses about how the two websites work in supporting their business growth. These two websites are designed to provide local and regional SMEs access to comprehensive business information and connect them to wider markets within ASEAN and global markets.

In this outreach event, about 100 participants who are officers from the Steung Treng and Kratie Provincial Departments under the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI), local business owners, as well as the general public learned about the two national and regional websites via presentations and a panel discussion.

Speaking at the event, Her Excellency CHEA Ratha, Under Secretary of State of MISTI expressed her support via the following statement: “As an entrepreneur and a vice president of a business association I was aware of what are the challenges and needs from local entrepreneurs, even before entering my role as a government officer with MISTI. Hence, I very much appreciate the usefulness of the two websites. It would have been so much better for my business preparation if these two websites were created during the time, when I established my business. It is because all information provided in the two websites is very useful, legitimate, and structured, which is easy to understand and to follow. I’m looking forward to seeing an increased number of registrations by our entrepreneurs.”

The event was co-organized by the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI), Cambodia Women Entrepreneurs Association (CWEA), Young Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia (YEAC) and supported by the ASEAN-German cooperation project “Strengthening Regional Structures for Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion in ASEAN” (ASEAN-SME) implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
