Prime Minister of Cambodia, Dr. Hun Manet, received Ms. Wen Jia, President of the Public Affairs Department of Alibaba Group, on the side-lines of the 3rd Road and Belt Forum for International Coordination in Beijing, China yesterday.

In the courtesy meeting, Ms. WenJia thanked the premier for taking the time to preside over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia and Alibaba Group to directly sell Cambodian products in the Chinese market as well as ASEAN countries through the eWTP Platform and to promote e-commerce.

She briefed the Cambodian Premier on the progress of Alibaba, which now has a total of approximately 1.3 billion customers worldwide, and which sells Cambodian products such as milled rice and longan on its e-commerce platform.

In addition, she added, the company has an e-platform for the Chinese people to apply for Cambodian visas, and thanks to this service, the number of applicants has increased significantly.

In reply, Hun Manet welcomed the cooperation between Alibaba and companies and enterprises as well as relevant ministries and institutions of Cambodia by bringing Cambodian products and services to the world market.

He also expressed his optimism that Cambodian entrepreneurs would use the Alibaba e-commerce platform to take full advantage of the international market. AKP-C.Nika
