The Ministry of Commerce (MoC) and representatives of EU-German Global Access and Trade Expertise (EU-German GATE) Tuesday discussed collaborative efforts to enhance Cambodia’s export sector, focusing on high-potential products and the establishment of an Export Lab to support local businesses.
The discussion, held at the MoC, was attended by Samheng Bora, Secretary of State at the MoC and Chairman of the Export Promotion Task Force, along with representatives from EU-German GATE. According to a statement released by the MoC on Tuesday, the meeting aimed to explore ways to strengthen trade ties and improve Cambodia’s presence in international markets.
The Export Lab is intended to provide Cambodian merchants and exporters with access to capacity-building programs and experience-sharing sessions on issues related to exports to the European and ASEAN markets, with the goal of promoting exports and enhancing Cambodia’s competitiveness in the international markets.
Additionally, the meeting discussed the necessary arrangements for Cambodia’s participation in Anuga 2025, one of the world’s largest trade fairs for the food and beverage industry.
The MoC will soon announce details to Cambodian businesses and exporters interested in joining the event, which is set to take place from October 4 to 8, 2025, in Germany.
Participation in Anuga 2025 is expected to provide Cambodian companies with valuable exposure, networking opportunities, and potential trade deals that could further boost exports to Europe and beyond.
